Cookie & Data Usage Policy
How RippleCodex collects and uses information to enhance your programming education experience
What We Track and Why
When you visit ripple-codex.com, we use various tracking technologies to understand how students interact with our programming courses and educational content. Think of it like understanding which chapters in a textbook are most helpful – but for our online platform.
We collect this data to improve course recommendations, fix technical issues faster, and create better learning paths for students studying programming languages. Everything we track serves one main purpose: making your educational journey smoother and more effective.
Types of Tracking Technology
Essential Cookies
These keep you logged into your student account and remember your course progress. Without these, you'd have to start over every time you visit. They're automatically enabled because they make the site actually work.
Learning Analytics
We track which programming exercises you complete, how long you spend on different concepts, and where students typically get stuck. This helps us improve course materials and identify topics that need better explanations.
Performance Monitoring
Our systems monitor page loading times, video streaming quality, and error rates. When the JavaScript tutorial crashes or Python exercises won't load, we need to know immediately so we can fix it.
Communication Tools
We track email opens and link clicks in our course announcements and newsletters. This shows us which topics interest students most and helps us send more relevant updates about new programming courses.
What Information Gets Collected
- Pages you visit and time spent on course materials
- Programming exercises completed and quiz results
- Device type and browser version for compatibility testing
- Search terms used within our course library
- Video watch times and completion rates
- Error messages and technical issues encountered
- Geographic location (country/region level only)
- Referral sources and marketing campaign interactions
How This Improves Your Experience
When we see that 70% of students struggle with a particular Python concept, we create additional practice exercises. If our Java course videos buffer frequently for students in certain regions, we optimize our content delivery network. Your data helps us build better programming education for everyone.

Data Retention and Your Rights
We keep learning progress data for active student accounts indefinitely so you don't lose course progress. Analytics data gets anonymized after 24 months. Marketing interaction data is retained for 3 years to comply with Taiwan's educational record requirements.
You can request access to your data, ask for corrections, or have your account completely deleted. Keep in mind that deleting your account means losing all course progress and certificates earned through our platform.
Third-Party Integration
Some of our programming courses use external code repositories, video hosting services, and assessment tools. These services have their own privacy policies, and we choose partners carefully based on their data protection standards.
For example, our coding exercises might use GitHub integration for project submissions, and our video lectures are hosted on secure educational platforms. We don't share personal information unnecessarily, but some integration requires basic account details to function properly.
Questions About Our Data Practices?
If you have concerns about how we handle your information or need help adjusting your privacy settings, our team is here to help.
